Valentine’s Day is right around the corner, so I thought I’d share a fun project with you today. This heart garland serves as a decoration and a Valentine countdown calendar! The hearts are numbered and each day leading up to Valentine’s Day and my kids can open one and find a little treat or a love note inside. There’s just something so fun about counting down to a holiday!
- Paper Mache Heart Boxes – 14 Boxes
- White Grosgrain Ribbon
- Doily Lace Tape – 5 Packages
- White Silhouette Vinyl
- Hot Glue Gun and Glue Sticks
- Martha Stewart Crafts White Doily Lace
- Number Cutting Files
After you’ve downloaded the cut file, load your Silhouette machine with white vinyl to cut out the numbers for the Valentine countdown. Peel the numbers away carefully (there are a lot of little details) and adhere to the tops of the heart boxes.
The next step is optional, depending on the look you like. I chose to add lace streamers to my Valentine countdown garland. I cut 12 inch pieces of lace and tied them in between the heart boxes. It’s just as cute without the streamers if you want a cleaner look.
