Are you a succulent fan? I didn’t get into the trend until a couple years ago. But once I realized how wonderful they are (alive or fake) I haven’t looked back. Something I love about real succulents is that they can be really easy to keep alive even if forgotten about. They also bring green and life during the cold winter months. As much as I love my real succulents, I love fake ones just as much; especially when they look real. They can be used in an arrangement for any holiday or everyday decor. Today I’m going to share how you can use them for Valentine’s Day by creating a succulent valentine arrangement in the shape of a heart.
You can add your succulent valentine heart to any spot of the house or you can replace the “o” in the word love. I placed them with paper mache letters which I then covered in adhesive vinyl, but you could use wood letters as well. My favorite thing about the heart is that it is a subtle Valentine’s decoration and could even stay up for the rest of the year.
First you want to pick out your desired succulents and then cut them down to size of the height of the box. Also, at this point, you can paint the side of your heart box if you so wish.
Then cut your foam up so that it fits into the heart box. It doesn’t have to look perfect, just needs to cover the bottom to hold the flowers. After you have it all arrange, hot glue the foam to the bottom of the box.
Lastly, add the succulents or flowers to the foam. Such a simple and classy Valentines decoration.
