I love simple projects, don’t you? This giant heart DIY Valentine backdrop is one of those easy decoration ideas that doesn’t take forever and costs around $10! Now that is the ultimate party decoration. Plus, how cute is that scalloped look from the heart shapes?!
- Foamies Hearts 3 color pack (3-4 packs depending on the size of the heart. This one took 3 packs)
- Removable glue dots
The process is pretty simple. Begin at the top of the heart and create two rows of 4 hearts with a gap of about 4 hearts between the two rows (using the glue dots to attach the hearts to the wall). Slowly work your way down overlapping the next layer on top of the first using your glue dots to affix the hearts to the wall and to the row above. For the second row your are going to start slightly out from the first row and it will be 5 hearts long on each side. Continue down one more row this time with 6 hearts on each side.
Then you will begin the long rows to make up the body of the heart. Each row will be one less heart than the row above. Continue until you have one heart on the last row.
This DIY giant Valentine heart backdrop looks super cute behind a Valentine party dessert table. It would also be a fun Photo Booth backdrop for a party! I added one of the pretty copper foil love balloons on top for the ultimate giant Valentine look!
Another fun idea would be to use the colors separately to create a few solid colored scalloped hearts on an entire wall. The foam hearts can also be spray painted so you can create a rainbow heart too! The possibilities really are endless!
