Hi, it’s Rena from TheCheeseThief.com and today I’m going to show you a craft that I love doing with my kids. I’m always looking for crafts that we can make together that won’t become junk in our house. This snowflake craft does require some cutting skills by an adult, but the kids will love to make the snowflake template. The basic premise of the craft is that the child makes a snowflake template and the adult copies the template onto shrink plastic and cuts it out to make cool little shrink ornaments or gift tags.
First, start off with a blank sheet of paper for the child to create a snowflake design. To make a snowflake shape, simply fold the paper on the diagonal to cut out a square shape.
You can have the child decorate the snowflake with glitter or you could even use a sharpie to handletter their name or the date onto the snowflake. All that’s left to do is attach a jump ring in the hole you punched so your shrink ornament can be hung. If you’d rather use the shrink ornaments as gift tags, all you have to do is string ribbon through the hole punch.
This snowflake is ready to be put on the tree and cherished for years to come.
