Looking for a fun craft for kids? Sometimes during those cold winter days when the kids are looking for something fun to do its always a good idea to have a project on hand. These Perler Beads snowflakes can provide hours of fun and allow kids a chance to be creative and learn good motor skills.
Supplies needed to make your own Perler Beads snowflakes:
- Grey Perler Beads
- White Perler Beads
- Perler Square Pegboards
- Perler Funfusion White Ironing Paper
- Iron & Ironing Board
- Tweezers (optional)
Start by placing Perler Beads in the center of the pegboards. You’ll want to work the beads outward in a snowflake pattern. No two snowflakes are the same so kids can get creative and put their personality into their creations! You’ll just want to make sure that the beads are connecting so that when they are ironed together they will stay attached. Sometimes it can be easier to use tweezers to work with the little beads so if your child is struggling with holding onto the beads, then trying tweezers can be an option.
When the design is finished it is time to iron the beads together. This is where an adult will want to help by heating the iron and applying the white ironing paper to the top of the Perler Beads snowflakes. Be gentle so you don’t dislodge the beads on the pegboard.
Gently press the iron down on top of the ironing paper to start melting the beads together. After the beads are attached, you’ll remove the iron and ironing paper and let your design cool.
Now you’ve got adorable little Perler Beads snowflakes. You can even add ribbon or ornament hooks and hang these on the tree.
