Are you all keeping warm during these cold Winter months? Why not do it in style with this super fast Knitting Loom DIY Neck Warmer! Not only is it functional and cute but it also can be easily customized with just a little surface crochet work.
Also, I thought I would mention that anybody can make this DIY neck warmer. Even if you’re the worst knitter in the history of the world (which I know isn’t true since I’M the worst!), you can totally knit with a loom. I promise! Just give it a try and you’ll see that knitting looms are not only really easy to use but fun too!
Supplies needed to make your own DIY neck warmer:
- Darice Easy Knitting Loom Kit
- Medium Crochet Hook
- Lion Brand Wool-Ease Thick & Quick Yarn (I used Marble)
- Caron Simply Soft Yarn (I used Watermelon)
Step One. Follow the instructions included with the Knitting Loom Kit to cast on and begin knitting the neck warmer onto the largest loom. With the exception of the crochet hook and yarn, all the supplies you’ll need are included in the kit.
Step Two. Continue knitting around the loom until your desired length is reached, cast off. (There are a ton of videos on how to cast off a loom!) I used up almost an entire skein of chunky yarn and ended up with a 12″ neckwarmer.
Step Three. If you’d like to add a small (or large!) embellishment, check out my video on customizing your neck warmer with a little surface crochet. It really is super easy and cute!
Aren’t you excited about trying a knitting loom now? I was serious when I said that even the worst knitter (me!) could use a loom.
Now that I’ve made a DIY neck warmer, I’m going to try my hand at a hat or long scarf next. The possibilities are absolutely endless!

Hi vanessa, thank you for inspire me make projects on my knitting loom. I got an knitting loom for my 25th birthday but just practice to cast on and off! But i think i can make a cowl and an neck warmer with your pattern very easy and not hard to do. I think you should have an youtube channel to teach people to do loom knitting!!
