I hope you are having a lovely holiday season! I am busy as can be and having the best time creating and decorating my home for Christmas this year! Deer heads and antlers have become a popular way to decorate your home but often the cost is prohibitive! So today I am excited to share a really cute, affordable and easy way to add a little DIY deer decor to your house this holiday season!
Supplies needed to make your own DIY deer decor:
- 12.5 x 9 inch Glitter Deer Head
- Unfinished 8 x 10 Wood Panel
- Burlap Fabric
- Hot Glue Gun and Glue Sticks
- Scissors
- Staple Gun
You will want to begin by cutting all your tags and the hanging string off of the deer head. Then you may set your deer head aside.
By the way, I really love how cute this glitter deer head is…the sparkle makes this deer head cute and not creepy. Just sayin’. And it also makes it perfect for your holiday decor! The white glitter deer head just screams winter to me! I think I might actually keep this up all winter long! But I digress…
Next you will cut a piece of your burlap fabric large enough to fit around the unfinished wood panel so that you can secure it to the wood panel from the bottom side. You will want this tight, but not stretched to the point where the fabric warps; just snug. I used my staple gun to secure the fabric in place on the back of the wood panel. If you don’t have a staple gun, a hot glue gun would work as well.
Once your fabric is securely placed around the wood panel, you can secure the glitter deer head to the panel using hot glue. Because the deer head is so light, you don’t need to secure it in any other fashion. Which makes this DIY deer decor project super simple and oh-so-cute too!
It only takes a few minutes to put this cute little holiday DIY deer decor together but the results are super cute!
