Let the countdown to Christmas begin with this fun and easy DIY countdown to Santa sign. With a few simple supplies and the free cut file, you can make this festive chalkboard in less than 15 minutes!
Now that December has arrived, we can officially start the Christmas countdown. My son loves to remind me every morning how many more days until Santa arrives so I thought this fun sign would be perfect for him. Plus, it’s super easy to make especially with the free cut file I’ve included.
Supplies needed to make your own DIY countdown sign:
- Decorative Chalkboard
- Vinyl Cutter (Cricut Maker or Silhouette Cameo)
- Cutting Mat
- Red Vinyl
- White Vinyl
- Transfer Tape
- Weeding Tool
- Chalk Marker
- Santa Stops Here Cut File
First, download the free cut file and upload it into your vinyl cutter design software. I sliced the file into two parts so I could have the Santa in red and the rest in white but I think it would look great all in red or all in white.
Then, let your handy dandy cutting machine works it magic.
Remove vinyl from around the image and apply transfer tape.
Transfer the image onto the chalkboard and remove the transfer tape.
That’s it! How easy was that? Now your fun Santa sign is ready for the countdown. I was already in love with the chalkboard sign before I added the vinyl and turning it into a holiday sign is the perfect addition to our Christmas decor.
This might just be the easiest project I’ve shared on Crafts Unleashed and I’m sure we can all agree that the easiest craft projects are the best. So, what are you waiting for? It’s time to get to work on this fun DIY countdown sign because Christmas will be here before we know it.
