Today I have a quick craft project that the kids can help out with. Meaning: it is an easy one! I am convinced that color is everything. I love adding bright colors to my holiday palette, and these paper mache DIY cone Christmas trees are a pop of happiness! You could easily switch up the colors to match your decor. I thought it would be fun using metallics. Maybe next year!
- 13.75 x 5 inch Paper Mache Cone
- 10.63 x 4 inch Paper Mache Cone
- 7 x 3 inch Paper mache Cone
- Foam Pouncers
- Mini Glitter Ornament Stars
- Acrylic Paint – I used:
Begin by painting your paper mache cones. Paint each a different color for variety.
I found it easiest to paint the cones with my hand inserted into the opening. I was able to get all sides without it sticking to the painting surface and needed three coats of paint per cone. Paper Mache soaks paint up!
Then begin adding the polka dots using a foam sponge pouncer and white paint.
Apply the white paint to the painted cones.
Using some sharp scissors, clip of the tips of the painted cones.
I told you this was a quick and easy project!
