There is almost nothing quite so timeless than a snow globe during the holiday season! That’s why I love this miniature snow globe ornament craft so much. With tons of glitter and paper to choose from on Consumer Crafts, these ornaments are easy to customize and enjoy. Perfect if you’re making these for your own tree or for others!
Supplies needed to make your own snow globe ornament craft:
- Fillable Christmas Ornaments
- 3″ White STYROFOAM Balls
- Mini House Die Cut
- Gemin Junior Die Cutting Machine
- Glitter Cardstock
- Mini Sisal Tree
- Darice Crystal Craft Glitter
- Darice Baker’s Twine
- Grosgrain Ribbon
- Dual Temp Glue Gun
Use the die cutting machine to cut the small house shape out of glitter paper. The paper is a bit thicker than usual so I usually run it through twice. Use a weeding tool or any other pointed object to punch out the windows and door.
I tried multiple ways to assemble the little house and a hot glue gun was the easiest by far! Just apply a bit of glue to one flap at a time (starting with walls) and press together until secure. I chose to attach an entire flat roof instead of the included shingle die cut. I just cut a rectangular piece out of silver paper and attached with the glue gun. If you do not have a house die cut, then a small house figurine or a simple paper cut house shape will work fine too.
Now that the house is assembled, let’s get started on the ornament section! Use a flat ruler or cutting machine scraper to slice the bottom 1/3 off the styrofoam ball. Apply hot glue to the lower back section and press in place on ornament half. Make sure your hot glue gun is on the low setting or you’ll melt the styrofoam ball too much.
Apply glue to the bottom of both the glittered house and mini tree and stick in place at the center of the styrofoam ball.
Pour an ample amount of glitter into the ornament. Apply glue to the other half of the styrofoam ball and close both sides of ornament together. Hold in place long enough for the glue to completely harden.
Attach string and bow to the top of the ornament.
Hope you have tons of fun making this mini snow globe ornament craft!
