I love sending and receiving cards for Christmas. What I love even more are handmade cards – they just feel a little more special. Today, I have two Christmas card DIY designs to show you, one with pretty hanging ornaments and the other is a gorgeous rhinestone embellished Christmas tree. They’re both pretty simple to create but make a big impact. Follow along as I show you how to make your own!
- Blank Cards and Envelopes.
- Core’dinations Glitter Silk Cardstock.
- Corrugated Sheets.
- Snowflake Embossing Folder.
- Embossing Machine
- Glue Dots.
- Rick Rack.
- Metallic Silver Ribbon.
- 2.5 and 2 inch Circle Punch or Cutting Machine.
- Hot Glue Gun
For the ornament card I used one 2.5 inch circle and two 2-inch circles. With my embossing machine I used a snowflake embossing folder to create a textured pattern. Once my “ornaments” were embossed I glued them on the the corrugated paper with Glue Dots. I attached the rick rack and bows with hot glue.
I’ve had a silhouette for years and not once have I made a card with it. That is until now. I’m not sure what I was thinking all these years but this machine can make handmade cards a quick and easy process. There are thousands of shapes and card designs to choose from that can be mass produced for holiday cards.
