I feel there are two types of people. The holiday traditionalists that want to only stick to the traditional holiday colors like red and green for Christmas and orange and black for Halloween and those who are like me and want to try to squeeze as many colors into each holiday as possible. Even though the 4th of July celebrates America and the red, white, and blue, I can’t help but throw a little pink, coral, and mint in there for good measure. You still get Americana vibes and stars and stripes but in a modern updated way. Today I am going to share wreath ideas for 4th of July in two ways. One for the traditionalist and one for the modernist, but both equally colorful and unique!
Supplies needed to make wreath ideas for 4th of July:
- Wood Stars (16 for the star wreath and 3 for the modern wreath)
- Wood Wreath Base (for the modern wreath)
- Acrylic Paint (in red, coral, mint, white, and turquoise – plus light pink for the modern wreath)
- Paint Brushes
- Hot Glue
Begin these wreath ideas for 4th of July by painting your stars with the red, coral, mint, white, and turquoise paints to give them a color blocked look. For the modern wreath, paint the wood wreath form light pink and add white abstract lines to the top to give it a fun pattern. Then let dry.
Once dry, turn the stars over and use a small screw driver to remove the hang tabs on the back.
Next, use the hot glue gun to attach the stars to the wood wreath frame.
If you prefer to stick to the traditional style. Use the hot glue gun to glue the stars together in a circle shape to form the more traditional looking star wreath. Just overlap the stars in a circular pattern and glue together.
Once the glue has cooled, hang the wreath of your choice over your door or mantel for the perfect colorful 4th of July touch! So now that you have seen both wreath ideas for 4th of July, which team are you on? Traditional or modern?
