Make a Mother’s Day handprint flowers pillow for the mom on your gift giving list. This easy DIY project is perfect to capture those little handprints for years to come. This is also a great way to display the art that your kids make around your home. Grab those little hands and get started on one of these pillows right now!
Supplies needed to make your own handprint flowers pillow:
- Zipper Pillow Cover (wash before painting)
- Pillow Insert
- 3D Fabric Paint
- Fabric Paint
- Paint Brushes
Start by adding cardboard to the inside of the pillow cover. Unzip and put cardboard inside to protect the back from any paint that may leak through. Then randomly adding the hand prints to the washed pillow cover. I find it easiest to paint the hand with a paint brush. Then press well onto the fabric. You can add as many or as few prints as you like.
Use a brush and some green paint to add stems, leaves, and some “grass” or something for your flowers to sit on. You can let older kids do this portion as well.
Use the black dimensional writer to add a name and date. You will want to be sure to do this step so you can remember this pillow for years to come. Again older kids can definitely do this step themselves.
Set aside and allow to dry completely before touching. Once dry, you can remove the cardboard from the inside and slip in your pillow form.
This Mother’s Day handprint flowers pillow is ready for gift giving. Imagine the look on mom’s face when she opens this present and sees those little hands! This one is also perfect for grandmothers!
If you have more than one child, allow them all to add hand prints and you can either put all of their names at the bottom or put each child’s name right below their flower.
Grab your supplies and get started on your Mother’s Day pillow today! You will want to make sure that it is ready for gift giving on Mother’s Day!
