Spring is just around the corner. The snow is melting, the birds are singing and the bulbs are blooming! It’s time to bring a bit of that inspiration inside with this Happy Spring jar decoration. I absolutely love this idea, it’s the perfect way to display and showcase some of your favorite craft supplies in your home decor.
If you hang around me long enough then you will quickly learn that I love all things turquoise. A neutral backdrop with pops of teal is a must in my decor. Here’s how to create your own Happy Spring Jar…
Supplies needed to make your own Happy Spring jar decoration:
- Quart Size Ball Mason Jar
- Crinkle Cut Craft Paper Shred
- Craft Burlap Flower
- Craft Burlap Ribbon
- Laser Cut Wooden Birds (These Wood Garden Shapes would be cute too)
- Wire Butterflies
- Small Chalkboard Sign
- Double Sided Tape
- Learn how to make these Decoupage Eggs from my previous post.
What is so fun about this project is that there are not a lot of messy or time consuming steps. The only bit of DIY that I did was to paint the wooden bird and I used paper mache eggs I decoupaged from a previous project. I painted the wooden bird turquoise (of course) but you could leave it au natural or paint it white.
After the bird was dry I began to layer all of my supplies into the spring jar. Start with the crinkle paper as a base. Build a bit of height and dimension with a few decoupaged Easter eggs. Use double sided tape to add a burlap flower to the inside of the jar. Write a sentiment onto the chalkboard bubble and tuck it in front of the eggs. Add a few butterflies and garland to the space. I made the turquoise laser cut bird my focal point and rested it on top of the eggs. Finally, fasten the jar closed and add a bit of burlap ribbon to the top.
This is such a great way to add a pop of spring to your decor! And I love that the sky is the limit! There are so many possibilities when creating a spring jar display like this. Try adding small robins eggs, a decorative bird or grapevine nest.
