Make a garden supply organizer to get all of your planting supplies in one area. This is a simple garden craft project that will look great hanging in a garage or just outside on your deck. I know that I can use all of the organization I can get in my garage!
Supplies needed to make your own garden craft organizer:
- 20 inch Wood Pallet Sign
- Chalky Paint (in your choice of colors)
- Outdoor Varnish
- Galvanized Buckets with Burlap Labels (3)
- Decorative Knobs (3)
- Paint Brush
- Metal Hole Punch
- Drill, Drill Bit, Bolts & Nuts
- Sawtooth Hanger
- Metal Saw
- Number Stencil
- Marker
Start by painting the pallet sign with the chalky finish paint. Allow to dry and finish with a coat or two of the varnish for protection. I painted both the front and back to protect it from the elements. In the meantime, use a metal hole punch to add holes to the back of the buckets as shown below.
Once dry, you will need holes drilled into your pallet sign. Measure and mark for equal distance and drill to the size of your knobs or bolts in the case of the buckets.
The buckets also received a number on the front of each. I just used a stencil and a marker to draw right on the burlap labels. You can write anything you like on your version.
Attach the buckets to the pallet sign with some bolts and nuts. Attach the knobs with the washer and nut provided with them. Add a sawtooth hanger or two to the back of your pallet sign as well for hanging.
Note that you will need a metal saw to trim the threads from the knobs and bolts as they will probably be too long for your garden supply organizer to hang on the wall properly.
After you trim those to size, all that is left is to hang and add in your gardening supplies.
