Spring is almost upon us and with that warm up comes the flowers. These cement DIY decor felt flower eggs are a pretty combination of soft felt and hard cement that are a must make for your spring and Easter decor. While these felt flowers look complex, they are actually really simple to make with just a pair of scissors and glue. But if you have a vinyl cutting machine like the Cricut Maker, the process is so much easier, or you can just use these Felties instead for a quick DIY.
Supplies needed to make your own cement DIY decor eggs:
Begin by cutting out flower petal shapes using the template. There is no need to be precise here, just a jagged edge and a circle out of the center. Once you overlap the ends and glue them together the felt flowers become 3D and look realistic and adorable!
Then use the hot glue to glue the petal pieces into circles by overlapping the ends. To make each flower, simply layer and glue one circle onto the other and then glue on a circle for the center of the flower.
When you have made the flowers, hot glue them onto the cement eggs to create a garland/sash around the cement DIY decor egg.
Fill in with different sized flowers in your desired color palette. Surprisingly the hot glue holds the flowers onto the cement egg pretty securely!
Repeat to make as many cement DIY decor felt flower eggs as you need to decorate your mantel, shelf, or table for spring and Easter. How pretty would these be as a centerpiece for Easter brunch? You can even scale up the felt flower template to cut and make larger felt flowers to decorate around the base of the cement eggs or to adorn Easter baskets with or to use as place cards for a spring soiree. Now who else is ready for spring time?!
