Friends: Spring. Is. Coming! I’ve been dreaming of pretty flowers and warmer temperatures for awhile now and I feel like we can finally see the light at the end of the winter tunnel. As a way to prepare for the fun to come, I’ve started creating easy crafts that can be completed in no time flat that will add a little extra touch of spring to our decor. One of the first ones that I came up with is this sweet Easter chick craft. It was super simple to make and is just too dang cute!
Supplies needed to make your own Easter chick craft:
- Durafoam 2-3/4 inch Egg Shape
- DecoArt Daffodil Yellow Acrylic Paint
- Foam Craft Brush
- Tangerine Orange Felt Sheet
- Yellow Craft Feathers
- Low-Temp Glue Gun
- Black Permanent Marker
- Craft Scissors
Step One. Paint the eggs, making sure to cover the egg completely and evenly. You may need to apply a second coat if you can see through the first.
Step Two. While the paint is drying, trim off a small triangle of felt to create the beak of the Easter chick craft. Set it aside for later.
Step Three. With the remaining felt, trim an oval with the scissors. Cut a small triangle from the bottom center of the oval to create two small feet.
Step Four. Apply a dime size circle of hot glue to the top edge of the orange felt and press the dried egg firmly in the glue.
Step Five. Use the hot glue to add the beak to the egg.
Step Six. Apply a small amount of hot glue to the stem of the feather and press them to the sides of the egg to create wings for the chick.
This cute Easter chick craft is just the sweetest little thing! Because I chose to use hot glue to ensure that these chicks would last for the long haul, I wouldn’t recommend making these with your kiddos, but you could use clear tacky glue if they’d like to attempt these. Make sure to allow for a longer drying time before they play with them!
These pom pom Easter chicks are also a kid-friendly project to try this Easter season.
