DIY Waterless Snow Globes

Christmas· Seasonal· Winter

Need an activity to keep the kids occupied for an afternoon?  These waterless snow globes are the perfect quick and easy craft for kids.  Plus, you can make an entire mantel full in a few hours.  Grab the miniatures, jars, snow, and the kids to get started.

Waterless homemade snow globesSupplies needed to make your own homemade snow globes:

  • Wide Mouth Pint Jars
  • Glass Cruets
  • Artificial Snow
  • Miniatures of Your Choice (My snow globes include snowmen, trees, animals, wagon, shovel, bench and more, but you can find tons of miniatures on Consumer Crafts)
  • Hot Glue Gun & Glue

IMG_5890I let my kids dive right into the supplies I received from Consumer Crafts.  They would decide on the layout for the snow globes then I just hot glued the creations on the inside of the jar lids.  Place a little snow inside the jar itself.  If you want any snow to stay behind while shaking, hot glue it down as well.  My son wanted this little wagon to stay full of snow.

IMG_5970Then just twist the lid on the jar and let your kids have a blast shaking their snow globes!  I made both the pint jar size and some mini snow globes with the 2 inch cruets.

IMG_5920I can’t tell you which is my favorite!  They are all adorable and we had so much fun making them.

IMG_5925This is a craft for all ages — from toddler to adult.  Maybe even get grandma in on the fun.

IMG_5928I spread these out on our winter mantle.  This allows them to be displayed plus be handy to give each of them a good shake on occasion.

IMG_5932Yes, these are equally as fun after they are completed.

IMG_5933I hope you all will make some waterless snow globes with your kids this winter season!

I love these Angie!! I’ve been wanting to make a version of these for awhile now, but haven’t been able to find the little animals to go in them! I’m so glad you posted this, now I know where to get them! Love the Snowmen too.
