If you’re looking for a super simple and quick homemade Christmas decorations idea – this project is for you! All you need is a few simple supplies to create this fun and glittery Ho Ho Ho decor piece. Add these homemade Christmas decorations to your mantle or anywhere else in your home for instant holiday cheer!
Supplies needed to make your own Ho Ho Ho homemade Christmas decorations:
- H and O Paper Mache Letters – 3 of each.
- Mod Podge.
- Foam Brush.
- Glitter (I used red and gold).
- Santa Belts.
- Clear Acrylic Spray.
- Glue Dots or other Adhesive.
Step one. Using a foam brush, brush a thick layer of Mod Podge onto the front of a paper mache letter.
Immediately pour glitter over the Mod Podge, covering the entire Mod Podged area.
Step two. Repeat step one with all letters and let dry completely. I decided to use gold glitter on one set of Ho, but you can use any colors or combinations that you choose.
Step three. Tap off any excess glitter and spray a coat or two of clear acrylic spray to seal the glitter.
Step four. Add glue dots to the back of the Santa belts about every half an inch. Adhere the belt to the middle of each paper mache H.
NOTE: If you are using 8 inch paper mache letters, the belt will wrap around the letter perfectly, as long as you pull tight while wrapping. If you are using 12 inch paper mache letters, you will need to cut the belt. Just thread the belt through the buckle and cut the back. Adhere the buckle to the front and wrap around both sides.
Your Ho Ho Ho homemade Christmas decorations are now done and ready to be displayed!
