You could use this idea for Halloween, of course, as I have- but it would be equally cute for bridal showers, birthday parties, whatever!
So you start by making the Halloween Favor Cones I showed you the other day. Instead of making holes on the sides, like to hang on a doorknob, you make holes in the front and the back. Tie a 12 inch piece of tulle through the holes.
To make the Favor stand, you’ll need:
- 2 24″ wreath stands
- 2 foot broom stick or dowel rod
- Black acrylic paint
- Orange acrylic paint
- Foam brushes
- Hot glue gun
- Hot glue sticks
- Black and orange buttons OR
- Wood buttons in 1 1/8 ” and 7/8″ , painted black and orange
- Mini Bowdabra
- Bowdabra Wire
- 6″ black tulle
- 2.5″ Black organza (wired) ribbon
Start by painting your dowel black and let it dry. If you’re using wooden buttons, paint the larger ones orange and the smaller ones black. You’ll need 4 of each.
As they are drying, make 2 bows using your Bowdabra. (There is a great post here on making a loopy bow.) I used the tulle for a first layer and then made a smaller layer of the ribbon.
Now hot glue your orange buttons & your black buttons together with the smaller ones on top. Attach a button stack to each of your bows in the middle. Using the Bowdabra wire, attach your embellished bows to the top of the wreath hangers. Then glue a button stack to each end of your dowel. (This will keep the dowel from sliding out of the wreath hanger accidentally.)
Slide your filled favor cones over the dowel, then place it in the hooks. (Of course, if you have more guests, you can always use a longer dowel.)
What a great decoration for the party, and the guests will be thrilled to take home a treat!
