Woodland Scene Gift Wrap

Hello, holiday crafters! Lindsay from Shrimp Salad Circus here again with another fun project to make your holidays just a little bit more creative, with gift wrapping ideas! Have you ever tried wrapping something really small, like a little box of jewelry, and ended up disappointed with how much it disappeared into all the other presents under the tree? Today’s quick little project will help your tiny gifts stand out in the cutest way possible by turning them into little woodland scenes!

1.   Put a dab of hot glue at the top of the trunk, right where the actual tree starts. Stick an end of the baker’s twine to the glue. Wind it around the tree as you go up, push it into the ‘pine needles’ a little bit as you wrap. The tree has a rough texture, so it’ll hold onto the twine. Put another tiny dot of hot glue at the top, and stick the other end of the twine. Snip the excess.

2.   Using small dots of hot glue, affix little red (or any color you like, such as silver) beads at random intervals all over the tree.

3.   Add a bigger pearl bead to the top of the tree with hot glue. This’ll be the ‘star’ on top of the tree. Peel off all the little hot glue stringy bits.

4.   Put your small gift, like jewelry or a giftcard, into a small white or kraft box with a bit of tissue paper. Using two coordinating colors and patterns of washi tape, tape your box closed, instead of gift-wrapping it. You can overlap the tape and make designs, etc.

5.   Put a dab of hot glue onto the spot where the two pieces of tape intersect, and stick the tree base onto the glue. That’s it! You’ve just turned a tiny, easy-to-miss box into the star of the show under the tree!
