Need a great gift idea for grandparents? Try our footprint craft picture frame gift idea! It is easy to make and the grandparents will love having this small memento of their grandchild’s footprint. Plus this gift is inexpensive! A special handmade gift from the heart that is easy to make and won’t break your budget? That is the perfect holiday gift idea!
Supplies needed to make your own footprint craft picture frame:
- Wood Picture Frame
- Craft Paint in the Color of Your Choice (for the frame)
- White Craft Paint
- Black Paint Pen
- Carrot Snowman Nose
- Red Pom Poms
- Candy Cane Pipe Cleaner
- Hot Glue and Glue Gun
- Paint Brush
Start by painting your frame blue or any other color that you love. Paint on the front as well as on the sides. Allow to dry completely. Then get your child and their foot! This is the most difficult part of this project. Apply white paint to the bottom of their foot and add their footprint to the picture frame. This will not be perfect but your gift recipient will love it anyway. Allow to dry completely before continuing.
Add a face and buttons to your snowman using a black paint pen or craft paint with a brush.
Cut the end flush on the nose with a pair of scissors.
Use hot glue to add the nose to your snowman. Trim a couple of pom poms in half so that they lay flat on your surface.
Use hot glue to put the pom poms on the sides of your snowman. Trim the pipe cleaner to size and shape. Use hot glue to secure.
Be sure to write the name and date on the frame so your gift recipient will remember this for years to come.
