Father’s Day Craft Idea: Simple Hugs & Kisses Gift Container

Craft Basics· Father's Day· Seasonal

I can’t believe how quickly Father’s Day is approaching.  I don’t know about you, but I always have a hard time finding the perfect gift for my dad and for my husband.  So this year I came up with a really fun and simple Father’s Day craft that is perfect for any dad!  It only takes a few minutes to put together, is inexpensive and can be customized to fit your dad (or husband) easily!  Here is my simple Hugs & Kisses Father’s Day craft.

Father's-Day-craft-container-Crafts-UnleashedSupplies needed to make your own Father’s Day craft container:

supply-list

  • Darice Keepsake Tote (I used small)
  • Chalkboard Label Sticker Set
  • Bistro White Chalk Marker
  • Darice Sparkle Tape or other embellishments of your choice
  • Hershey’s Kisses and Hugs or other candy

Father's-Day-craft-container-Crafts-Unleashed-3Step 1: The first task at hand is taking the label off of the front of the little clear container.  It was actually a little harder then imagined so take your time and use either Windex or Goo Gone to help remove an residue that may be left.

Father's-Day-craft-container-Crafts-Unleashed-4Step 2: Write on the chalkboard label with a chalk marker.  I did this before putting the label on the container because I knew it would be a lot easier to write on a flat surface.  I don’t always love my handwriting so I tried this several times until I finally got it right.

Because I wanted to put Hershey’s Kisses and Hugs candy in the container, I simply wrote “Hugs & Kisses.”  But you can write Happy Father’s Day, We Love You, #1 Dad or any other fitting phrase.  Again, the options are endless so you can truly customize this to fit your dad or husband!

Step 3: After you have written on your label, simply adhere it to the center of your container.

Step 4: Then add Sparkle Tape, ribbon or any other embellishment to help make your Father’s Day craft container a bit more fun!  I chose to keep mine simple and put a row of decorative tape along the top and bottom of the container.  It adds a little something without being overly decorated.  It is simple yet handsome and makes a perfect gift for any guy!

Father's-Day-craft-treats-Crafts-Unleashed-1Step 5: Then you simply fill the decorated Father’s Day craft container with the treats of your choice!

Father's-Day-craft-treats-Crafts-UnleashedThis is definitely a gift that comes together in just a few minutes and it is easy enough to have your kids create nearly all by themselves!  Which makes this a great Father’s Day craft!

Happy Father’s Day!

Why do they always make it so difficult to take the labels off? I paint on wine bottles, or other glass bottles and have the same problem…..I love this idea and I did send for the jars , just because they were the right size , but will think of you as I try to take the labels off…. lol..
