I’m all about funny statement shirts, and while I love wearing my flouncy tops or comfy sweaters, I just love wearing statement shirts at least once a week! This time I had to create a funny DIY turkey shirt for this year’s Thanksgiving and this is just a perfect design. See how easy it is to make – you can whip it up in less than 30 minutes! Read on to find out how and to download your free cut file.
Supplies needed to make your own DIY turkey shirt:
- Plain T-shirt
- Gold Heat Transfer Vinyl
- Black Heat Transfer Vinyl
- Weeding Hook
- Electronic Die-cutter
- Iron or Heat Press
- Cut File (personal use only)
Step 1. Size and cut out your design – I used two colors but you can use just one if you want to make it simpler. Don’t forget to mirror the design and weed out the negative spaces after.
Step 2. Position your turkey design onto your shirt. Make sure it’s nice and centered! With my medium sized shirt, I sized the design at 11″ across and centered it on the shirt. Tip: you can fold the shirt in half to see the center line of your shirt – makes it easier to position your design! Iron the design down – use an iron with the hottest setting (no steam) or a heat press.
Step 3. After making sure all parts of the design are stuck on the shirt, carefully remove the transfer sheet and you are done!
And that’s how simple it is to make your own DIY turkey shirt – isn’t it so fun? Now go create one (or more) of this! What Thanksgiving food is your favorite?
