Make this faux concrete Easter egg DIY in minutes with an easy to use product that can add a faux concrete look to almost any surface. Who says Easter and spring decor can’t be stylish? Add some farmhouse flair to your home with these gorgeous eggs!
Supplies needed to make your own concrete Easter egg DIY:
- Wood Eggs (I used two sizes)
- Faux Concrete Paint Finish
- Sponge Paint Brush
- Moss (optional)
- Bird Nest (optional)
This concrete finish product is really easy to use. It comes with two bottles (one light and one dark). Start with the lighter of the two and a paint brush. Apply one coat to your eggs. The product is very thick and has material in it to make a textured finish. Because these eggs need to have the finish on all sides, I did one side first and allowed to dry.
Once dry, I added the lighter of the two bottles on the other side as well. This needs to dry completely before continuing.
After it has dried, you will want to start with a second coat of the lighter paint. Then, while still wet, apply a little of the darker color to get that concrete look. The small egg at the top in the picture below has been complete while the others have not. You can see a big difference!
Once again, I did one side and allowed to dry before completing the other side.
The package recommends allowing your project to dry for four hours before using. I love the concrete look on this Easter egg DIY project and it was so easy to apply.
The texture on these eggs is amazing and it comes right out of the bottle from the concrete finish paints. You will love these faux concrete Easter eggs for your spring decor.
Don’t need any Easter eggs? Use this faux concrete finish product for tons of other surfaces like this faux concrete DIY vase. What will you add a concrete finish to? The possibilities are endless!
