If you are looking for a unique, inexpensive treat holder idea- I think I have you covered!
This little guy was made from a couple of pre-made tags! It is the perfect size to hold three Ghirardelli chocolate squares, or a couple of Hershey’s Nuggets.
They are quick to assemble, and easy to customize for any holiday or event.
Supplies needed to make your own valentine treat holder:
- White Cardstock
- White Medium Textured Tags (the grommets come pre-attached on these tags! Yippee!)
- Core’dinations Glitter Silk Cardstock (red and silver)
- Nested Heart Dies
- Nested Scalloped Heart Dies
- Red and White Baker’s Twine
- Tape Runner
The first thing you will do is score the bottoms of your tags at 1″. You will need two (2) tags per treat holder.
Then cut a piece of white cardstock into 2″ by 1″ pieces. Score both ends of the paper pieces at 1/2″. You will need two (2) of these pieces per treat holder.
Fold the bottoms of the tags, and fold the pieces of paper as shown.
Using a strong adhesive, adhere the bottoms of the tags together.
Then adhere the folded paper pieces inside of the tags on both sides.
Now your treat holder is assembled. You can customize the treat holder for any holiday! You can also switch out the color of the tag itself. Lots of possibilities here.
I used die cuts to decorate my treat holders for Valentine’s Day.
Using nested heart dies, cut your shapes. You could use some stickers to make this project even easier.
I love Core’dinations Glitter Silk Cardstock. It is a nice thick cardstock that cuts easily with my Silhouette and any dies or punches. The glitter doesn’t flake off! I think it adds delicious glittery bling to my projects.
See? Yummy. And I haven’t even added the treat yet.
Oh, there it is! Hello chocolate.
Finally, just tie the top grommets together using baker’s twine, and you are good to go!
Let me hear *your* ideas for these! What colors and which holiday would you make these for? I hope I have inspired you to try some!
Happy crafting!

Very simple and cute!
Cute!
Oh, I will be trying these for Valentine’s Day but I am thinking they would be super cute for Easter too. I have some adorable Easter stamps I will use to create somme.
