This cute and festive printable DIY gift card box makes adorable last minute holiday gifting as easy as print, cut, fold, glue!
I know not everyone loves to give gift cards, but they are so practical, sometimes they are just the best option. When I give gift cards, I like to try to package them in fun, creative ways to make them feel a bit more special and personalized. Instead of tossing a gift card into an envelope, why not try out this printable DIY gift card box?
It is both super cute and super easy to put together, so it’s pretty great! If you have a Silhouette Cameo, this project is especially quick and easy as the machine will cut and perforate all the fold lines for you, but even without the machine, you can make this adorable little box in just minutes.
Supplies needed to make your own DIY gift card boxes:
- White Cardstock
- Silhouette Cameo
- OR Scissors and Bone Folder
- Permanent Double Sided Tape Roller
- Washi Tape
- Baker’s Twine
- My Free DIY Gift Card Printable PDF
Start by printing the box, insert, and tag out on white cardstock. If you are going to cut with your Silhouette Cameo, make sure the registration marks are turned on. Once the pages are printed, cut out the designs with either your Silhouette or with a pair of scissors.
If you use your Silhouette to cut out the box, the machine will perforate along the fold lines, which make this so easy. If you are cutting by hand, use a bone folder to score along the fold lines marked in the pdf. Either way, assembling these little boxes is simple.
- Fold along fold lines.
- Apply adhesive on the white tabs on the sides of the box.
- Press the tabs to the sides to form the box.
- Fold the sides of the box insert down.
- Place the insert into the box and slip a gift card into the slit behind the holly.
Step Three – Decorate.
If you like things simple, then your little DIY gift card box is all done! If you want to fancy it up a bit, you can add some colorful washi tape, twine, and the holly tag included with the box printable.
Your gift card is perfectly packaged and all ready to give to spread a little Christmas cheer to someone special.
