I made some really fabulous mixed media gift tags for the holidays last December and I ran out. I have to say that everyone who has received one of my gift tags really loved them and two other good things came from making them. I got a basket of cute tags in a short amount of time PLUS I got my studio cleaned up a tiny bit in the process!
So I decided I needed to make more. This time I’m using some different materials- such as the packs of Core’dinations tags, Cuttlebug, and the great new embossing folders from Darice. I super love this tree, don’t you? I think these would be great for a Father’s Day gift package AND as a bonus (if you don’t add too many goodies to them) he can use it for a book mark once the gift is opened. 🙂
Here is a little something I learned about putting the gift tags through the Cuttlebug with the embossing folders. You DO NOT want to have the metal grommet inside the embossing folder. Otherwise you end up with a large hole in the top of your tag.
Here is another tag I made where I embossed a large tag and then added a smaller tag on top. I filled a tube with a great mix of small beads and then added some fibers to tie it all together and tie it on with.
