Every now and then, a really awesome crafting tool comes along and I can’t help but try to use it for everything. Heidi Swapp’s Minc is seriously the coolest thing: it can add metallic foil to just about any laser-printed item and with Valentine’s Day fast approaching, I knew exactly what I would be foiling next! While store bought cards can be great for the romantic holiday, a home made version with your own heartfelt words will make any lucky person feel incredibly special and I’ve got free printable Valentine cards to help.
Supplies needed to make your own Minc Printable Valentine Cards:
- Heidi Swapp™ Minc Machine
- Minc Reactive Foil (I used red and hot pink)
- Valentine Printables (printed with a laser printer)
- Craft Scissors
- Sharpie Pen
Step One. Begin by printing your free printable Valentine cards with a laser printer onto heavy card stock. Because most people don’t have a laser printer in their home, I always send mine to be printed by my local copy shop. Trim around the edges of each valentine.
Step Two. Cut a piece of the reactive foil large enough to completely cover the valentine. Layer the foil face-up on the valentine and place them within the plastic folder that is included with the Minc.
Step Three. Run the plastic folder through a pre-heated Minc. I like to set my machine to 4, but you can use whatever settings you find to work best for you.
Step Four. Carefully pull away the excess foil to reveal your completed valentine.
Aren’t these printable Valentine cards pretty in all of their metallic-y goodness?
Take a few moments to write some meaningful thoughts to the ones who matter most to you; I’ve already got these ready to go for my husband and kidlets.
