I’ve always enjoyed making paper flowers, especially during the springtime. You can create just about any color or style to decorate your space or gift to a special friend. Today, I’m sharing a quick tutorial on how to make paper flowers with crepe paper rolls.
Supplies needed for this how to make paper flowers tutorial:
- Pink Crepe Paper
- Yellow Crepe Paper
- Cloth Covered Floral Wire
- White Floral Tape/Hot Glue
- Fringe Scissors
- Blue Mason Jar
- Yellow Ribbon
How to make paper flowers instructions:
Step one. Trim pink paper to about 16 inches. You can make this as long or short as you’d like. The longer the paper is the fuller your flower will be.
Step two. Trim yellow paper to about 8-10 inches. You’ll need a small 1-2 inch square to wrap around the wire. This will be the center of your flower. Using fringe scissors, cut half way up your yellow paper. Then begin wrapping the fringe paper around the wire. You can use floral tape or hot glue for this step. The hot glue will be easier and hold it a little better, but be very careful not to burn yourself through the layers of crepe paper. I may know a thing or two about that. 😉
Step three. Fold your pink paper in half then continue to fold in half until you have about a 1-2 inch piece. Keeping the paper folded, cut off the top into a rounded corner. It should look similar to the picture below once it’s unfolded. You can also cut the top into a triangle for a different style of flower.
Step four. Wrap the pink crepe paper around the wire, again using floral tape or hot glue. I like to slightly gather the bottom of the tissue as I’m wrapping it around.
When you’re done you should have flowers that look like this:
These DIY paper flowers would be great for a birthday party or shower centerpiece. You can get creative with the flowers and use mason jars to display them in.
I hope you enjoyed this how to make paper flowers tutorial and will try them for yourself!

These are delightful and remind me of the sweet Sitka Rose in southeastern Alaska. Love to use the fringe scissors whenever possible. Thank you for your tutorial!
