Paper tape, or most commonly known as washi tape, makes creating handmade cards easier than ever! Create quick cards with multiple patterns using strips of paper tape and a few colorful embellishments. Super simple, very little waste and the only glue used is on the floral embellishments. The ribbons and the paper tape come in coordinated color packs by Martha Stewart.
- Martha Stewart Paper Tape
- Martha Stewart Specialty Ribbon
- Martha Stewart Black Glitter letters
- 4 x 5″ Natural Card Bases
Fold the card stock in half to form the card base. On the bottom of the card, place the first strip of washi tape. I started an 1/8th of an inch from the bottom. Add additional strips of the tape, one on top of the other, like shown below. You could even make different lengths to add some variety. Trim the specialty ribbon to create smaller leaf branches. Cut several and play around with them to create a look you love. Trim off a few flowers and add a pearl to the center of the flowers.
Once you have all the pieces arranged how you like them, glue them to the front of the card with Fabri-Tac. When adding embellishments to cards, I try to always add an odd number and keep them similar but not exactly the same.
I made 6 of these cards in an hour. I would have made a few more but my toddler did not sleep as long as I hoped she would. The fast and easy cards have become my staple since I can get everything out, have at least one made and cleaned up within her nap time.
