Sometimes I get super overwhelmed with the amount of gifts that I need to purchase during the holiday season and when all else fails, I revert to my old tried and true favorite present to give: a gift card. I mean, if I can’t figure out what the perfect something is for that special someone, I let them pick what will make their hearts happy. If I do go the gift card route, I try to spice up the packaging a bit and make it more personal by hand making it. This simple embossed DIY gift card holder literally takes minutes to make and adds that meaningful touch.
Supplies needed to make your own DIY gift card holder:
- Core’dinations Card Stock in Black and White

Step One. Trim the white card stock to 5.5″ x 3.75″. Trim the black card stock to 5.5″ x 1.25″.
Step Two. Fold the white card stock at 1.5″ and 4″.
Step Three. Unfold the white card stock and lay it flat within the embossing folder.
Step Four. Place the embossing folder within the embossing pads and roll it through the embossing machine.
Step Five. Admire your pretty embossed card stock!
Step Six. Use a small amount of the adhesive to attach the gift card to the center of the embossed white card stock and fold it back up to conceal the gift card.
Step Seven. Fold the strip of black card stock over the folded white card stock and seal the two ends with adhesive.
Step Eight. Wrap a long section of twine around the sealed black card stock and tie it off with a bow.
