It’s that time again for teacher and students to head back to the classroom. Another school year means new desk supplies, of course! Isn’t that the best part of school? Getting new pencils, notebooks, and planners was (seriously) the best part about going back to school. That’s why when I saw this adorable Hedgehog Pencil & Phone Holder, I just knew I had to add some paint to it! This super easy phone holder craft just requires a few supplies and can be made in less than 30 minutes. How perfect would this look on a teacher or student’s desk?
Supplies needed to make your own pencil and phone holder craft:
- Hedgehog Cell Phone Holder
- Darice Satin Acrylic Paint: Coral Reef
- White Acrylic Paint
- Matte Acrylic Paint: Gray
- Paint Brush
You won’t believe how crazy easy this project is! Even if you consider yourself a novice painter, this project can easily be done in less than 30 minutes. Before we pull out the paint though, use a pencil to lightly mark where the hedgehog’s white underbelly begins and the pink quills begin. You can use the image below for guidance. No worries if your line isn’t perfectly straight. Real hedgehog bodies aren’t perfect either!
Once the white paint has dried a bit, you can now paint in the pink quills. Of course, if my imaginary pink hedgehog isn’t your style, you can opt for a more traditional color selection. Regardless of color, you’re going to love how this hedgehog pencil and phone holder craft looks on your desk!
Now that the body is painted, let’s add the cute little details to your hedgehog. I painted the nose and ear gray to go with the modern look of this project. I thought about adding some line details to the quills but decided to leave it plain.
And there you have it, your phone holder craft is done! It was so easy to make and will look so cute on a desk. You can spray a couple layers of varnish if you’re concerned with wear and tear. Otherwise, just place on a desk and you’re good to go!
I love that this project is super practical but also super cute. Who wouldn’t love to have a hedgehog hang out on their desk?
