It’s that time of year when the itch to organize hits. I love starting a new year by putting away the holiday decorations, then deep cleaning and organizing the entire house. Today I’m sharing some cute and easy DIY storage containers that are perfect for organizing small office supplies, washi tape, sewing notions or other small items. I found the cutest mini wooden boxes that look like the containers that strawberries are sold in. So fun! Follow along to learn how to make your own.
Supplies needed to make your own DIY storage containers:
- Simple Wood Favor Basket Set (each set comes with six baskets)
- Scraps of Patterned Paper
- Clear Tape
- Scissors
- Scoring Board
Step one. Begin by cutting a 4.25 inch square from scrapbook paper. Then cut 1 inch squares out of each of the four corners.
Step two. Make score lines connecting the inside corners.
Step three. Fold the sides up to form a box and secure all four edges with clear tape.
Step four. Slip the paper box liner into the strawberry boxes and voila! That’s it! Cute little DIY storage containers for organizing your favorite craft supplies.
And they work really well to organize inside a desk drawer. Everything is sorted and organized, but still visible.
These DIY storage container boxes can also be painted fun colors or glued together to form a single divided tray. They are so versatile and whimsical at the same time.
