Have you ever found yourself spending more time sifting through your supplies to make a craft then on the actual project itself? If you have, you are not alone! I have found myself running into this problem daily and decided to take action. Today I am sharing a few craft supply DIY storage ideas for keeping things pretty and functional in your creative space.
- Photo Storage Boxes (I used White and Natural)
- White Scrapbook Boxes with Lids
- 6.75″ Glass Jars with Lids
- 8.75″ Glass Jars with Lids
- 12 x 12 Vertical Paper Holder
- Doll Pins
First off let’s take a look at my before photo. I’m not going to lie, this area was quite dysfunctional. The little bookshelf houses a lot of my scrapbook paper and card stock, paint supplies, Silhouette Cameo and Mint machines and accessories, not to mention little odds and ends like ribbon, washi tape, adhesive and craft tools.
This space definitely needed some organization and quite often the area was just ugly and frustrating. Just by adding in a few storage boxes and jars, this space has been repurposed into an organized and functional craft supply area. Here are a few DIY storage ideas on how to incorporate these items to effectively organize spaces your home.
Photo Boxes- These photo boxes are great for storing smaller items. They are especially effective for corralling all my craft paints and supplies. They stack easily and look great, not to mention they can be easily labeled by type, color, or item type for quick reference.
White Scrapbook Boxes & Vertical Paper Holder- These boxes are so great to store and protect all kinds of paper and card stock and like the photo boxes, they can be easily stacked and labeled. The vertical paper storage works great for easy viewing access of papers.
Jars– Jars are one of my favorite ways to organize random craft supplies. These work great for washi tape, craft tools, brushes, markers, buttons, and embellishments. Not only do they keep all those supplies in one spot, but they look beautiful displayed for easy access.
Looking for a budget friendly way to add personality to your craft storage? How about using scrapbook or wrapping paper to line the back of your bookshelf for a pop of color. It is an inexpensive way to beautify your storage area.
This little space has me so excited, I can’t wait to get the rest of my craft room whipped into shape! Stay in the cleaning spirit with these tips for taming & organizing papers in your office.
