St. Patrick’s Day is around the corner and I wanted to do a simple craft with my kids. We had so much fun making crafts for Valentine’s Day, it only seemed natural to do something for St. Patrick’s Day. My daughter loves chenille stems (I called them pipe cleaners when I was a kid), they could keep her entertained for hours. If you ever have to go on a flight with young children, just bring a pack of pipe cleaners. It will keep them occupied for some time.To make these pipe cleaner shamrocks, all you need is pipe cleaners.
To make the goodie bags you need:
- Small Treat Bags
- Paper
- Tape
- Bump Chenille Stems
- Hot Glue
- Candy (I used green m&ms)
I love the bump pipe cleaners because they add more depth to the shamrock. You could also use regular pipe cleaners without the bump.
Take one end of the pipe cleaner and make a loop and twist to secure.
Create another loop over, twisting at the original position of the twist.
The third loop will be the top loop. To secure the thrid and final loop, bring pipe cleaner through the third loop (as seen in image below).
Cut your paper to the size of the treat bag and tape (or staple) onto filled treat bag. Attach shamrock with a bit of hot glue.
