Do you need a fun and easy way to entertain your little ones? Not sure what do with those water or pop bottles you throw away?
Celebrate Earth Day and recycle them into a Seek and Find bottle game! It’s great to have in the car, in the diaper bag, or on the coffee table. Adults and children will get enjoyment trying to find what is in hidden in the bottle. Can you find all the hidden objects?
Supplies needed to make your own seek and find bottle games:
- Empty Plastic Water or Soda Pop Bottle
- Perler Beads
- Assorted Miniatures
- Elastic String
- Cardstock
- Glue Gun or Super Glue
- Hole Punch
Wash the plastic bottle and remove the labels. It is best to use plastic bottles that have a smooth shape. Make sure inside of bottle is dry before you begin. Using a funnel ( I used a piece paper rolled to fit the hole of the bottle), pour Perler beads into the bottle, filling it about a third of the way full.
Add a few of your miniature pieces to the bottle. Keep track of what items you are adding. Continue adding Perler beads and miniature items until the bottle is almost full. You will need some space at the top so the beads have room to move around when searching for items. I suggest hot gluing or super gluing the cap on so little fingers don’t unscrew the lid!
Make a tag to attach to the bottle so the player knows what they are searching for. I typed out on the computer what was added to the bottle and matted it on a piece of Core’dinations Cardstock. Punch a hole in the corner, add elastic string and tie around the top of the bottle.
One large container of Perler beads made about 4-5 bottles. These would be great gifts to give at a children’s birthday party!
Yes! Finally someone writes about pop bottles.
Wonderful sensory/mind game for the elderly …..I would put larger items for the seniors….Thank you Linda
