Winter is in full swing here and that means a lot of time spent indoors for my little ones. We killed some time one afternoon and made these fun penguin DIY snow globe crafts. My little one loved dumping in the glitter and turned out to be such a fun mommy and son craft to do. Want to make a few of your own penguin snow globes? Follow along below!
- Wide Mouth Mason Jar (or if you prefer a plastic container with lid)
- Blue Glitter and White Glitter
- Snowflake Sequins
- Penguin Figurines (or other figurines of your choice)
- Aleene’s Clear Tacky Glue
- Hot Glue Gun
- Pom Poms, Washi Tape, Snowflake Stickers
I started by warming up my tacky glue in some warm water while we made the globes.
While my penguin lid was drying we filled the mason jar up with some warm water. I poured a bit of the clear tackly glue into my mason jar and stirred. There is no exact measurement. The glue just gives some density so when you shake up your globe the glitter falls a little slower. I was also told that you can achieve the same effect with glycerin.
Once you are done, shake up your DIY snow globe and watch the snow fall on to your penguins. He loved this! Please use caution if you are making this craft with little ones. It is glass and could break. We played with our DIY snow globe for a while and then they went away to play another day. If you want them to keep their snow globes I would suggest using a plastic container.
