Perler beads are a fun activity for kids of all ages. They’re little plastic beads that you use with a peg-style board to create designs and patterns and when heated with an iron, perler beads melt together setting the designs permanently. Kids can create a whole pile of fabulous pieces in an array of colors. Even young kids enjoy making their own designs and patterns while combining fine motor skills and creativity.
You can purchase Perler beads in a variety of kits which include the peg boards and beads, you’ll need your own iron. Mix and match sets to make your own terrific creations!

I love these!!! There is even a program that you can buy for your PC that will take any photograph and make a pattern for it in perler beads. When you frame it and hang it on the wall, you can’t even tell it was done with perler beads. This is a great craft for both kids and adults. I have seen some amazing pictures done with perler beads. One person did the Last Supper and it was gorgeous!
I’m not familiar with this product. I had to look at the company’s website to get a clearer idea of what the process is and what the finished product looks like. I would have liked a little more explanation from you, with more photos of project ideas. Even the company website isn’t that clear on what the finished projects really look like.
Don’t worry- this was just an “introduction” post. Tomorrow there will be a full step-out project with great photos. ; ) -Jenny
