DIY Creeping Monster Vinyl Halloween Decorations

Halloween· Kids Stuff

Today’s post is about how to make sure your child will never use the toilet alone again.  Just kidding!  I am a prankster though, and I do enjoy using my crafting supplies to make fun things to entertain my family (and myself) with.

I saw this sticker idea last year, and I knew I wanted to make my own creeping monster Halloween decorations.  I varied my monster a bit by adding a third eye and giving it wiggly arms. But I think it’s as funny and silly as the original.  I used my Silhouette for this project, but don’t stress if you don’t have one.  This design is simple enough that you could use vinyl and craft scissors to cut out your own monster Halloween decorations – no electronic cutter required! These little creeping monster decorations are super quick and easy to make and they are just so much fun! Let’s get started…

Monster-halloween-decorations-crafts-unleashed-3Supplies needed to make your own monster Halloween decorations:

  • Silhouette Cameo Electronic Cutting Machine
  • Black Vinyl
  • Silhouette Vinyl Transfer Paper
  • Creeping Monster Template
  • Scissors (if you do not have an electronic cutting machine)
Step 1:  Open the file in your Silhouette software.  Resize it as needed and cut the vinyl.

Step 2:  Weed the vinyl.  Use the transfer tape to adhere the vinyl to the toilet tank.

Step 3: Remove transfer paper, and you are done! Super quick, easy and cute!

This little monster also looks cool creeping up under a door!

It would also work on windows, cabinets and most any other opening you can think of.  Every person in my home has laughed when they see my little monster Halloween decorations.  Have fun spooking your favorite people this Halloween!

Thanks for the cute download! I’m going to put in on the toilet after the kids go to bed and see how they react! Too funny!

I love this idea, and I have a Silhouette, but When I downloaded the monster studio, it wanted to know what program to open it with, That question always stumps me. What program do you use?

    Thanks

Hi Robin…I’m hoping someone else can help! I use a Mac and when I download it, it doesn’t ask how to save it. I just download the file. Let me ask around and see if I can find a better answer!

That is clever beyond words. The toilet is often neglected as a place to decorate, and you have managed to make it cute and funny without needing any “toilet-humor”. I love it!

This is so cute. It is a new idea for Halloween that I have not seen for both the toilet and door. I have some clear cling that I can attach the black to and then I can move it to the windows too like you suggested. It has been pinned! and I will also let my silhouette group in on this too.

I LOVE this! (As in, I might have squealed a little bit when I saw it this morning. SO cute!) I don’t have a cutting machine, but I’m going to DIY my own version with vinyl, scissors… and googly eyes. Very fun–thanks for the idea, Morena!
