My little girl loves hair accessories. Every year for Easter my kids get a new Sunday outfit and I love to make a cute little hair accessory to go with it for my daughter! I found the cutest pink and white dress from Costco and today, I am showing you how to make a hair bow, perfect for Easter or everyday wear!
And yes…don’t judge…I am modeling this bow! I want to surprise my daughter with it so she can’t see it yet! Shhh!
I just think this is so adorable!
How to make a hair bow supplies:
- Mini Bowdabra & Wire
- 3″ Wide Tulle (you can fold 6″ wide tulle in half)
- 1″ Wide Ribbon
- 3/8″ Wide Ribbon
- Hot Glue Gun
- Hair Clip
Begin by cutting all of your lengths. You will need:
- 48″ length of tulle
- 12″ length of 1″ ribbon
- 4″ length of 3/8″ ribbon
- 3″ length of 3/8″ ribbon
- 6″ Bowdabra wire
Place your Bowdabra wire into your Bowdabra lengthwise.
Fold your tulle, in half and in half again until it is approximately 3″ long. Find the half way point and scrunch it down into your Bowdabra.
Fold your 1″ wide ribbon in half, and using the crease as your guide, place the middle of the ribbon, pretty side down, in the middle of your Bowdabra on top of your tulle.
Loop one end of your 1″ wide ribbon and place the end of it into the Bowdabra. Do the same thing with the other side. This will give you two loops. Place the middle of each loop into the Bowdabra. Use your tool to scrunch your bow down into the Bowdabra well.
Tie the Bowdabra wire around the bow and pull tightly. Remove your bow from the bowdabra, wrap your wire around to the back of your bow, and tie it in a very tight knot.
Fluff your bow until it looks pretty.
Fold your 4″ length of 3/8″ ribbon in half lengthwise. Secure together with a dab of hot glue. Wrap this around the middle of your bow to create a pretty center and hot glue it in place.
Line your hair clip with the 3″ length of 3/8″ ribbon. If you aren’t sure how to do that, come check out my tutorial HERE.
Use hot glue to attach the bow to your hair clip.
And that’s all there is to it! It only took a few minutes to create this fun little bow and it will match my daughter’s Easter outfit perfectly!
And it is so cute…I might just have to make a more grown-up version for myself! I love this!
I hope you like this how to make a hair bow tutorial – enjoy!
