Let’s be honest. The thing graduates can use the most is cold, hard cash. Life gets costly really quickly! However, I struggle with the generic “cash in a card” thing. Have you noticed how expensive greeting cards have gotten? Crazy! Today I want to show you a graduation gift DIY option that packs a little more punch than a card, costs about the same, but has so much more meaning.
Supplies needed to make your own graduation gift DIY:
- 8×8 Shadow Box with Slot
- 1canoe2 Vinyl Word Stickers
- Letter Stickers
- Patterned Cardstock (I used Light Blue Multistriped)
This Wish Bank shadow box came already painted white, and with the top slot in place. It made this project an “assembly only” craft. I love this! I just needed to customize it a bit.
Trim your chosen patterned paper to 8 x 8 inches.
Remove the backing from the shadow box.
This also creates a great place for them to corral and save spare change – it all adds up!
I hope you are inspired to go beyond the traditional card, and make a memorable graduation gift DIY to go along with a gift of cash.
