As a mom I’m constantly searching for craft ideas to make with my kids. Pinterest being my favorite source for all things creative. About a year ago I came across a DIY fairy garden on pinterest and instantly fell in love with the project. At the time I had never heard of making a mini garden, but I knew my daughter would love to make one. Fast forward a year later we finally got around to creating a butterfly and fairy mini garden for her.
- Mini Flower Pots.
- Mini Bridge.
- Bird Bath.
- Welcome Bench.
- Mini Garden Fairies.
- Mini White Fence.
- Blue Gems.
- Faux Succulents.
- Planter, Soil & Flowers.
The best thing about these mini gardens is that there’s no right or wrong way to do them. You simply add as many accents to your garden as you please. We chose a butterfly fairy theme and placed white butterflies in between the fresh flowers. We also used two fairy figurines – my daughter loved these fairies! She asked for some to display on her dresser which reminded me of the knickknacks my grandma had growing up. For now we’ll keep our fairies to our outdoor garden but I do think these little figurines would look great in her butterfly themed room.
In regards to the plants, we added the soil first then aligned the flowers around the border of the planter. We used them as a filler to take up space and add color to our garden. After placing the faux succulents we added our fairy garden accents. I also trimmed the white picket fence to separate the “river” from the rest of the garden.
