Can you believe Easter is right around the corner? I have a fun spring craft that you can do with your little ones today. Not only is this craft kid friendly, it’s quick! You can make these bunny DIY treat bags in less than 30 minutes! Ready to get started?
Supplies needed to make your own bunny DIY treat bags:
- Tote Bags (I used orange, lime green, white)
- Acrylic Paint (I used Party Pink, Spa Blue, White)
- Pom Poms
- Spouncers
- Cardstock
- Tacky Glue
- Painter’s Tape (optional)
- Printable Bunny (if cutting my hand)
- Silhouette File of Bunny (if using a Silhouette machine)
Start by downloading a copy of this bunny silhouette. To create this stencil you will want to print out on thick cardstock. Printer paper is too thin and the paint will bleed through the paper.
If you have a Silhouette machine, you can use the cut file I provided. If you do not have a silhouette machine, just cut out the rabbit shape and use a small piece of tape to adhere your stencil back together. I sized this bunny silhouette to fit these fun kid sized totes perfectly.
Now it’s time to prep your DIY treat bags. Before you paint, insert a small piece of cardstock inside the bag. This will help control any bleeding when you start to paint.
I like to tape my stencil down to the table using washi tape or some painter’s tape. This will prevent any movement of the stencil when you start to paint. Grab your favorite helper and a spouncer. Then, lightly dab the paint on until the entire stencil is covered.
Once your bunny DIY treat bags are dry, adhere a big pom pom to the bunny’s back end.
That’s it! Perfect little bunny DIY tote bags sized just right for a little one. I think they also make cute gift bags. Just fill them full with some Easter candy and leave them on the desk of your favorite teacher!
Have a happy spring, everyone!
