Wire jewelry is all the rage- and if you can make a simple flat spiral, you can make cool jewelry and home decor designs in a flash! It takes a little practice, but it’s a great technique to master!
Let’s just start with the simple technique. Cut a length of wire about 6 inches to practice on. using your round nose pliers, “grab” the wire at the very end, using the tip of the pliers.
Then, carefully rotate your wrist to bend the wire into a single loop.
Now you have to change pliers. Switching to the flat nose pliers, grasp the wire in the jaws of the pliers and slowly begin to coil. Continue wrapping the wire and rotating the coil until it’s gone around 3 times.
Now you can use this idea to make earrings, bookmarks, fan pulls, etc- let your imagination run wild! Tomorrow I’ll show you how to make a bookmark using this spiral technique! Stay tuned….
