Summer means sandal and flip-flop season and of course that also means that us ladies need extra bling on our ankle area – especially when wearing flip flops! Today I’ll be showing you how fast and easy it is to create your own summer DIY anklets with easy-to-find and inexpensive supplies. What are you waiting for – read on to find out how!
Supplies needed to make your own DIY anklets:
Step 1. Pick your connector charms. There are a lot of charms available on the Consumer Crafts website – and you can also use beads as well!
Step 2. If using beads, thread a string of beads on to an eye pin. I used a 1.25″ eye pin for mine. Bend the extra wire (like in the middle of the photo) and use your round-nose pliers to loop it and close.
Step 3. For a standard sized anklet, you will want to cut two pieces of chain with a length of 3.5″ – 4″. depending on how loose you want it on your ankle area. Assemble your anklet by connecting the pieces with jump rings as shown in the photo below. Choose the charm that you want. I couldn’t decide on which charm I wanted so I made all three!
And your DIY anklets are done! Easy as pie – isn’t it?
These DIY anklets come together in minutes so you can definitely create one for each day of the week.
Not into anklets? You can definitely shorten the chain to create an elegant and simple bracelet instead. They’re the perfect summer accessory and definitely an inexpensive gift idea!
