Tassels and pom-poms are a fun summer staple, and I’m going to share just how easy it is to make your own super simple DIY tassel jewelry so you can rock the tassel trend all summer long! You’ll just need a few supplies and you can easily customize your own necklace and earrings to suit your style.
Supplies needed to make your own DIY tassel jewelry:
- Embroidery Floss (two colors of your choice)
- Jewelry Connectors
- Gold Jump Rings
- Jewelry Pliers
- Gold Necklace Chain
- Gold Ear Hooks
Begin by cutting one 6″ piece of embroidery floss from one color and a second from a coordinating color. Next, tie the first piece of floss around the center of the entire loop of matching embroidery floss as shown.
Fold your embroidery floss in half. Take your second coordinating colored 6″ piece and wrap it around the floss about 1/4″ down from the top and tie a knot to secure it. Cut off the excess embroidery floss at the top (the two strands in the pic below) and trim the bottom evenly.
Next, add a jump ring to the top of the DIY tassel through the center of the fold.
Attach the necklace chain to the two clover shaped connectors using jump rings. Add a jump ring to the other end of each clover shaped connector. Lastly, attach each of those jump rings to the main jump ring of the tassel.
Your necklace is now finished! To make an earring, repeat the tassel making process, but only add one quatrefoil connector and ear hook to the top of the main tassel jump ring.
Duplicate that, and your earrings are finished! Swish-swish!
That wasn’t too bad was it? Now imagine being able to customize/coordinate these super simple DIY tassel jewelry with your favorite colors and looks!
Or better yet, creating an eye-catching accessory as a gift for a friend or loved one!
