I have to admit, when the Plastic Canvas Challenge was announced, I was a little worried. I had never used plastic canvas and am not familiar with the stitches. After doing some searching, I found several necklace ideas that I liked and didn’t require any traditional stitching! Today, I will show you how to make a necklace with plastic canvas triangles!
- Plastic Canvas
- Crafter’s Paint (I used Black and Gold)
- Mod Podge
- Jump Rings
- Necklace Chain
- Jewelry Pliers
I painted white plastic canvas to customize my necklace, you can skip this step and make it easier by using colored plastic canvas.
Step 1: Cut triangle shapes out of plastic canvas. For this necklace, I used three triangles, but five would look great too!
Step 3: Apply Mod Podge to the plastic canvas to seal the paint. This will help prevent the paint from chipping. I suggest letting the Mod Podge dry overnight, I learned the hard way and my paint chipped when adding the jump rings.Step 4: Use jump rings to connect the triangles together. Then, connect the triangles to the necklace chain.
