Ready to rock some awesome jewel DIY fringe earrings for summer? This earring tutorial is so easy you can knock it out of the park in less than an hour. What are you waiting for, gather up your materials and let’s start making!
Supplies needed to make your own DIY fringe earrings:
- Jewelry Making Pendants (I used thes fancy hematite ones)
- Suede Cord*
- Color-coordinating* Thread
- E-6000 Glue
- Earring Hooks
- Jump Rings
- Jewelry Pliers
Step 1. Cut off six pieces of suede cord in varying lengths. Put them all through one large jump ring.
Step 2. Secure the suede cord by wrapping it tightly in some color coordinating thread and gluing it onto the back with a dab of E-6000 glue or even hot glue.
Step 3. Disassemble the jewelry making necklace component and free up two of the jewels for this project. Attach the fringe onto the back of one of the jewelry making necklace links with some E-6000 and wait for it to dry.
Step 4. Once dry, attach it to your earring hooks using some chain if you want it to drop more, or just jump rings if you want it a bit higher up. I opted to go with just jump rings since the fringe was long anyway (and I have a short neck).
Step 5. Use two pairs of pliers (ideally, two flat nosed ones instead of a round nose one like I did!) to easily open and close the jump rings and attach your earring hook to your earring.
And you are done! This fancy set of DIY fringe earrings does not take long to make and it’s definitely great for a night out with friends or a date night! Change it up with different jewels or even different colored fringe to go with the style you are looking for and have a couple of different sets for the summer season.
What kind of earrings do you like wearing? Have fun crafting, friends!
