Hey friends! I’ve got a fun jewelry project to share with you today that makes up quickly and adds a bit of holiday cheer to any outfit. This combination of beads, when assembled together, makes up a great pair of angel DIY bead earrings. For today’s project, I’ll be sharing basic charm-making. This is a great project for beginners, and you can even find ALL the pieces you need for your DIY bead earrings sold together in a set using the links below, so it only requires a few supplies.
Angel DIY Bead Earrings Supplies Needed:
- Darice Enchanted Angels Beads (I used a cream pearl finish, in the 20mm size)
- Earring Wires
- 2-inch Jewelry Head Pins -2
- 4mm Jump Rings – 2
- Jewelry Pliers Set – (You’ll use round and chain nose pliers and wire cutters)
Because all the beads come together on a string, one string will make up a few charms. That means you can also make a matching pendant, a gift for a friend, or share some craft time! First, take two sets of beads off the strand and arrange them on a 2-inch head pin. The teardrop bead will go on first, then the wing set, then the round bead, and finally the metal spacer.
Hold the head pin in your round nose pliers just above the beads. Wrap the pin over one side of your pliers until you form a loop.
Next, wrap the wire around the pin between the loop you made and the beads. It only needs to be wrapped once around to be secure, but your DIY bead earrings will look best if you fill the entire space between the loop and beads. For me, that was wrapping it twice around the pin. Use your wire cutters to snip away any excess wire, and do be careful when cutting wire – sometimes, that little bit can go flying.
Finally, twist open a jump ring, and attach the angel charm to an earring wire. All that is left is to repeat the process for the second earring, and you’ve got a great set that’s ready to be worn!
Thanks for joining me for today’s quick DIY bead earrings jewelry project, and I’ll see you guys again soon! If you can’t wait to start another jewelry project, try these geometric handmade earrings.
